Description written up in Mycologia , Vol. 70, 1978., Micro by Vera S. Evenson and Rosa-Lee Brace on 22 October 2003. Spores: fusoid-elliptic, inequilateral, lightly amyloid with irregular flattened round 'lumps' on surface. Data card contains numerous, microscopic measurements of spores. Dr. Orson Miller, with Hope Miller, took numerous, miscroscopic measurements in Aug. 2003. Findings: spores average 9.9-13.5 x 4.5-5.4 microns. Data card contains sketches of spores. Note from Orson and Hope Miller: 'We studied type and the spore measurements do not correspond with the published description of type - the desc.: spore 9.5-13 x 6-7 microns; Orson measured the type - 9.9-13.5 x 4.5 - 5.4 microns. (He also rechecked the calibration of his scope.).' Attached to the data specimen card is a description of the fungus as written in 'Notes on Colorado Fungi III: New and Interesting Mushrooms from the Aspen Zone,' Mycologia LXX, Sept. 1978, pages 1040-1063.
