A handwritten note from Alexander H. Smith is attached to the data card. Micro study by Vera S. Evenson in February 1979. Spores: 11.5-15 x 6.5-7.5 microns Pip shape inequal in profile. Rugose, pinkish purple ochre in melzer. Many 'shell coats' loose. Yellow in KOH. Micro: Basidia 24-27x8-9 microns, clavate, 4 spored. Pleurocystidia - none seen. Cheilocystidia - fusoid ventricos with elongated necks, obtuse apices hyaline 40-60 x 5-9 microns. Cuticle - a thin lattice with numerous slender pileocystidia 2-4 microns diam obtuse, clamps, mostly pale ochre in color. Hypoderm - thick distinct, cellular incrusted brownish yellow. Pileal trama - interwoven of hyphae 8 to 15 micron diam, pale greyish to hyaline Gill trama - interwoven (not parallel) hyphae short and fat - 8-10 microns diam, pale yellowish grey. Card contains several sketches.
