Densely gregarious on a large pile of woodchips on a residential lawn

Pileus oval at first, white, soon expanding to campanulate, covered white powdery scales that are easily rubbed off upon handling. In age the pileus with darker brownish coloratation at center of pileus, margin conspicuously striate. Gills white, crowded free. Flesh soft, white, becoming pinkish in age or with handling. Annulus present, leaving a superior ring that can be detached (but was present in many specimens). Stipe to 10 cm long, thin in relation to pileus, equal with an enlarged base. Thick white rhizomophs abundant in the woodchip substrate. Odor mild. Spore print white. Spores somewhat dextrinoid, elliptic, with a germ pore. 6-10 x 5.5-7.5 ยต. Cheilocystidia with a long neck present.
