Growing gregariously on wood chip mulch planted around a Sycamore tree.
Nest goblet shaped, to 1cm high and 1 cm wide at maturity. Exterior tan and finely hairy, enclosed at first and opening via a thin, white membranous lid that soon disappears. Interior of the nest smooth, metallic grey. 3-7 peridioles present, dark gray to almost blackish, lentil-shaped, 1-2 mm in diameter. Funicular cord and hapteron present on most peridioles. Odor none.Microscopic characters: Spores inamyloid, large, some variable in shape but all are smooth and oval to spherical.
