Originally identified by D. L. Viess as "Amanita sp. aprica type". ITS DNA has 98% identity match with Amanita sp-LG1045, a currently (as of April 2015) unpublished species by R. E. Tulloss. This collection is stored in the Amanita indet. box under the last name "Viess". - R. A. Powers
