Gregarious in moss moss on the ground in a wet forest (mainly hemlock and cedar).
On mossy ground.
Cap small, to 2 cm wide, bright scarlet red. At first convex with a slightly icurved margin, soon flat or with a small central depression. Cap not viscid, fading to orange in age, particularly near the margin. Gills yellow w/orange tints, broadly attached or beginning to run down the stem, distant. Stem red with pink tones (lighter than pileus), dry, equal, to 5 cm long, turning whitish only at extreme base.
