Pileus convex, 10 cm diameter, pale brownish rust, smooth, finely areolate, color intensifying to touch; context yellow, blueing in 20 sec; pores yellow, firm, bruising blue to touch, 3 cm long, 2-3 pores per mm, thick tubes; stipe mottled with yellows, blueing to touch, 7 cm long x 3.5-4 cm wide. Odor mild, taste not distinct. KOH orange; Ammonia -, FeCl greenish black cap, pores, context.
