Originally thought this was Boletus satanas, but now think it's either B. haematinus or B. pulcherrimus. It has no sign of yellow pores and the cap is pretty red so I'm leaning toward B. pulcherrimus, but that's supposed to be rarer, so I'm having doubts. About 15 cm tall, growing among redwoods, first, and possible some maple.
