Found growing far up on a tree that is said to be about 800 years old. The guide told us it can be good for the trees because it rots out the inside of the tree and allows for biodiversity with in the rot and soil. This process takes a very long time and is beneficial for Sherwood forest as there are only limited places where some of these insects, and bug species can be found in the world.
