Three out of four images are this species - the one with sorediate margins is (I think) in the Pannariaceae. Pseudocyphellaria crocata s.l. - look for - dark chocolate brown or blue-black (sometimes grey) upper thallus surface, the upper surface usually covered in yellow powdery soredia - mostly in circular pustules but on one race only on the lamina margin; undersides white, black or brown-black and hairy with cream or yellow pseudocyphellae and a white medulla. Sticta fuliginosa - best way to tell this one is smell - it reeks of fish (can be very strong), thallus lobulate or with very broad circular lobes, upper surface finely isidiate, charcoal black, grey-black, blue-black or dark brown, margins sometimes prominently ciliate; undersides fawn-coloured or white, with prominent circular cyphellae.
Corticolous. Thallus various shades of olive. Densely pappilate lobes relative small with little or no branching. Underside white somewhat ridged, rough. Host, old man kanuka Is this part of the P crocata complex?
