Looks like this is growing on bark. F. flaventior is really common on bark in Sonoma Co. Another really common look-alike on bark is Flavoparmelia caperata. I called this one F. flaventior because I could make out what appear to be the characteristic white markings (pseudocyphellae) on the lobe surface--these areas often turn into soralia (structure that produces the asexual reproductive propagules called soredia). The look-alike (Flavoparmelia caperata) does not have pseudocyphellae on the lobe surface.
