on magnolia fruits
Stromata clustered, sometimes branched, upright, slender, surface black, central tissue white, thin, 20-50 mm high x 1.5-2.0 mm wide, tapering toward upper ends, apex sterile and twisted, lighter colored, perithecial contours recognized, less than 1/2 perithecial profiles protruding stromata level. Perithecia broadly ellipsoid, 420 x 300 μm. Asci cylindrical, consciously stalked, c.a. 110 x 7 um, bearing 8 uniseriate ascospores, apical rings inverted hat shape but protrusion very thin to inconspicuous, c.a. 3.5 x 1.5 μm. Ascopores pale yellow, inequilateral fusiform to boat-shaped, 13-15 x 3.0-3.5 μm, germination slits absent.
