Open forests with White Fir, Ponderosa and Jeffrey Pine.
Soil.
Cortinarius glaucopus group. Cap 77-142 mm across, greenish (more so than in pictures) with white UV patch Stipe 57-80mm long, 18-33 mm thick at apex, base bulbous. Earthy odor. Mild taste. KOH dark brown on cap, orange on flesh and stipe.
Gregarious under Ponderosa and Jeffrey Pine, White Fir.
