Cap 3-9cm, hemispherical, asymmetrical, discolouring yellow. Stem 1-2 x 7cm thickening to base, solid, flesh brown at base. Smell not distinct, taste not distinct. Spores 7.5 x 5 very amyloid, thin-walled and collapsing, some verrucose. Taste mild. No cystidia. This Leucopaxillus is common in NZ Pinus radiata plantations. Morphologocially it is closest to L. paradoxus but sequence data indicates a species complex of mixed European/North American taxa with uncertain names.
