I have been collecting this species off and on for about 10 years in various locations in the eastern Cascade Mts. I am not convinced this is S. pseudobrevipes but is as close as I have been able to find. The differences I have noticed from S. pseudobrevipes are: (1) fruits during morel season (May and early June)not summer (July and Aug., (2) Often a bright yellow when fresh not the honey yellow described by Smith and Thiers, (3) Most often found without any veil remnants on the stipe not as described by Thiers with a distinct annulus. The collection that is pictured shows more remants than I have seen before.
