Growing under mature monterey cypress. Many specimens partially or fully buried. Flesh slightly and sporadicly red/burgundy bruising when cut, broken or cooked. Cap staining slightly yellowish when rubbed/cleaned. Veil remaining intact until specimens are quite mature. Veil with beautiful yellow highlights. Most individuals very robust. Buttons very very dense; mature specimens only slightly less so (still very dense). Odor mild and pleasantly 'mushroomy'. Flavor divine.
