Scattered in soil under hemlock along Lower Cammerer trail, Cosby, GSMNP Pileus: 16-59mm, 4C4-D4, 4B4, 5D6,3B3, 3A2, with yellow stained 4B7 in places, infundibuliform to convex, pileus hugging stuipe when young, depressed, viscid when wet; margine tuberculate striate, crenate; context white, thin, firm; cuticle peels over halfway; odor slightly nutty, taste slowly mild acrid; SP C to D. Lamellae: cream color, adnate to subdecurrent, forking near base, close; guaiac +. Stipe: 23-35mm x 8-13mm, white discoloring yellowish brown in age at base, smooth with grooves; context white, hollowed with chambers; guaiac +, FeSO4 pinkish on stipe and context. CI/JKO/NQT Spores: ellipsoid to obovoid, (7.6-)6.9-6.4-5.9(-5.7) Ã- (5.1-)5-4.7-4.4(-4.1) µm, Q= (1.54-)1.43-1.35-1.28(-1.21), inamyloid plage; ornamentation isolated warts with no connectives observed, 0.5-0.4 µm Cystidia: SV pos, contents staining in cresyl blue, clavate to cylindrical with tapering apex and often mucronate, (50-)48-46-43 Ã- (12.7-)11.9-10.6-9.3(-8.5) µm Pileipellis: orthochromatic in cresyl blue, SV neg., well-defined subpellis, subpellis highly gelatinized
