Three specimens (2+1) growing under pines, with mature oaks in the vicinity. The mushrooms had a limbate volva, an annulus and a lined cap margin at all stages of development, and the presence of all three suggests Amanita sect. Caesarea. I've never collected representatives from this section in my home state (NJ), and I don't know what the distribution limits of this section are in the Northeast.
