These were growing in a primarily Sitka spruce habitat. There were 3 old dark specimens and one younger fruitbody that were growing fairly close together. The younger specimen had bright bluish gills and some blue on the upper stipe that didn't show well in the photos. The flesh when cut was also bluish but I didn't wait to see if reddish tints appeared. The older specimens displayed none of the blue characteristics and had dryer caps. The older specimens and the single young specimen all dried up to a dark brown.
