Caps to 36 mm in diameter, in-rolled at first then broadly convex. Moist (had been raining moments before the photo was taken), sparsely hairy. Brown over the disc and green to blue-green at the margin, gradually browning all over in age. Gills white, crowded, slight decurrent, rarely forking, margins slightly ragged in youth but even at maturity. Stipe to 8 mm in diameter, 52 mm in total length, with an especially tough yellow-brown base to 25 mm long. Stipe vertically lined. Stuffed/solid. More or less equal. Greenish-white, bruises pale tan. Spore print white. Smell earthy. Taste mild. KOH bleaches the blue-green to buff. Habitat, growing amidst rotting hardwood roots alongside a trail.
