Several dry specimens fruiting terrestrially near a fallen decayed log in Oak-Hickory woods. Representative cap: 3 cm., dry, cracked, rough and wrinkled, lined margin. Gills developing orange-brown spots, becoming cinnamon-colored in age. There appears to be some scant dried, whitish milk deposits on gills. Stipe: 3.1 cm. X 4 mm., hollow. Strong, difficult-to-describe odor. Obtained cream/pale yellow spore print.
