Found adhered to leaves in a wet hardwood forest. Cap diameter 43 mm, dry and covered with brown fibrils, most intensely over the disc and most distinctly where it becomes almost squamulose near the margin. Stipe covered by longitudinally appressed fibrils (white), with a base that is expanded, discolored yellowish, and notably hard compared the the remainder of the stipe. No significant mycelial mat. No distinct odor or taste. Spore print white-white. KOH on pileipellis pale orange.
