Found by Tiffany Scribner at the Ohio Mushrooms Enthusiasts meeting at Mohican State Park. Substrate unknown but hardwood leaflitter adhering to the base of the stem. Red oak, white oak, beech, hickory, sugar maple, hemlock and white pine were present in the area. No odor of anise or any noticeable odor. Cap dry and non-hygrophanous. The margin of the cap had short hairs. Faded to dull brown after 2 years.
