Growing scattered and in small clusters mostly black mulch under Tilia along a path near Taxus sp. Almost definitely mycorrhizal with Tilia sp. 2 basidiocarps growing from a crack in the sidewalk. Odor potato-like. Taste mealy, nutty and earthy; somewhat like the seeds of Plantago spp. Caps convex and some with a slight umbo in the center. Caps not spotted and without universal veil remnants. Caps with golden-brown centers and whitish margins. Mature cap margins plant. The caps did not seem to be hygrophanous and weren't rugulose. Did not notice tears in the lamellae or white fimbriate edges. The gill edges were lighter though. Stipes with relatively even widths throughout. Stipes not discoloring and without mycelial cords or universal veil remnants. Cortinas present and leaving some remnants on the stipes. I only found one mature specimen unless this is the same as the other small Hebeloma I found at the same location.
