Growing in moss and grass at the base of a young Abies balsamea var. phanerolepis in a plantation of that species. Scattered and in small clusters of up to 3. Odor radish-like. Taste mealy. Caps convex. Caps slimy, chestnut brown in the center and cream on the margin. Cap margins slightly inrolled when young. Caps not rugulose. Did not seem to be hygrophanous. No cortina or universal veil present. Gills sinuate and without tears or a white fimbriate edge. Young gills white, become light brown in age. Gills ~0.2 cm deep. Stem pruinose at the apex and slightly enlarged at the base. Context white to opaque and slightly hollow in the center of the stem. Did not notice discoloring or mycelial cords. Spore print dull brown.
