Growing near Tsuga canadensis, Pinus strobus, Pinus subg. Pinus. Did not record any hardwoods in my field notes but Fagus grandifolia and Quercus spp. were in the wider area and their leaves were present at the collection site. 2 fruiting bodies growing scattered along a path. Collected older fruiting body with a Hypomyces infection in a small portion of the cap. Did not collect younger fruiting body. Pores bruising strongly blue-green and fading to dull green before brown. Stem tan with red dots and olive tints. Context white in cap and brownish in the stem. Cap context not staining except for faintly blue-green near the edges. Stem context staining dull blue-green. Odor indistinct. NH4OH yellow-brown on cap becoming greenish. 5% KOH yellow-brown on cap.
