A NJMA Foray collection. Surprisingly, this was the most common Tylo species found at the foray (>1 dozen fruitbodies), and almost all of them had the faded, pale tan caps and pinkish-purple pore surface regardless of age. This particular mushroom was found in the vicinity of oaks and hemlocks. As expected, it tasted bitter -- licking the exposed context was enough to feel it.
