The DNA sequence for this mushroom (exact same place but a month or so ago) came back as a 98% match to Hygrocybe cf. ceracea. This closest match was to a sequence from Ontario Canada. Next closest match at 96% was to H. parvula. So does not seem to match closely DNA of H. ceracea from Europe. The match from Ontario was submitted by Byrn Dentinger - waxcap specialist. He inserts the sequence into the middle of known sequences of H. insipida - so my choice of H. insipida. ...........Any other species suggestion is welcome of course but a reasoning for the choice would be appreciated.
