Growing under Norway spruce, often in large tightly packed clumps. Caps 3-13 cm, white, smooth and dry. Flesh thick and white, notably very mild odor and taste. Gills white, subdecurrent to decurrent, close to crowded, no cystidia. Stipes 1.5-2 cm at apex, bulbous at the base, plentiful white mycelia binding masses of spruce needles. Spore print pale yellow. Spores ellipsoid, inamyloid, cyanophilous in Cotton Blue. Spore sizes (5.6)5.8-7.2(8) x (2.7)3-3.5(3.8), n=30.
