Nearby hardwoods were Fagus grandifolia, Quercus spp. and Acer spp. Ascocarps between 6.9 and 12.8 cm long and between 0.5 and 0.8 cm wide at their widest. Asci 8-spored with amyloid apical plugs. Spores brown with straight, almost spore-length germ slits.
