A solitary specimen in wet grass beneath a mature Maple tree on residential common ground. This is the third year I have seen this species fruit in this location. At first glance I thought this was one of the many common LBM's that are everywhere in the lawns during the recent rainy period, but as soon as I pulled it from the ground and saw the tiny puckered cap and long tap root with orangey-brown bruising I realized it was an immature O. furfuracea. Wish I had left it to grow a bit more. White spores.
