Solitary in soil in mixed spruce-fir-pine (Picea-Abies-Pinus) woods.
Description:
"Cap young, 4 cm broad, velutinous, brown, dry (typically xerocomoid). Context white, unchanging. Tubes bright yellow, not bluing, pores very small. Stipe 4 x 1 cm, yellow, glabrous."
