In small groups in forest humus.
Notes:
Pileus 2-3 centimeters broad, broadly plane to slightly umbonate, surface dry, dark brown, with loosely-arranged fibril that give is a shaggy appearance. Flesh thin, brown, odor mild. Lamellae notched, close, dull brown. Stipe 2-3 centimeters long, 2 millimeters thick, equal fibrillose, dull brown. Veil cobwebby and disappearing. Spore print brown. Substrate: terricolous.
