Habitat: In flat low wet place in woods, near a stream, amongst leaves and pine needles.
Description: Compare also Herb. no. 862. [Spores] 480x Spore print in Herb. under no. 1937. Gills fairly close, unequal, rounded behind. Stem almost smooth, at first quite solid. Odor repulsive and very marked, not unlike opium in bulk. - L. C. C. Krieger
