This collection is definitely a topotype, but given uncertainty around the specific collection reference in the publication and collector and date of this collection, it could hold the syntype status.
Specimen citation: Mem. Torrey Bot. Club 14(1): 34 (1908). Index Fungorum synonomyzes with Lactarius repraesentaneus Britzelm., Ber. naturhist. Augsburg 28: 136 (1885), but neither Burlingham nor Hesler/Smith accepted this synonomy.
