Growing singly on grass near the sidewalk
Cap 5cm wide, broadly convex with an umbo, irregularly wrinkled towards the center, brown to buff (darker toward the center of the cap), slightly moist to subviscid when fresh. Faintly striate at margin. Gills whitish, thick, notched, subdistant. Stem ~8 cm long, very finely hairy, white with a sheen near the apex, becoming slightly off white to tan towards the base. Stipe straight, ~0.5 cm thick - thinner at apex and becoming thicker below, with a small bulb at the base and a large root below the bulb. Flesh white. Odor not disticintive. Microscopic characteristics: Cheilocystidia conspicuously capitate. Pleurocystidia to 75 µ long, 25 µ wide, cyclindrical, fat. Immature specimen: No spore material available
