Description:
Stalked polypore with funnel shaped, zonate pileus with a metallic brown (coppery) sheen (like a slightly worn penny). Pileus 1-4 cm wide, round. Convex to uplifted in age. Some caps fused. Pileus dry, finely felty. Pores brown, somewhat shallow. Stipe 1-2.5 cm long, 1-5 7 mm thick, brown, covered with adhering dirt, sand and debris (some of the pores also with adhering sandy debris) equal or with a bulge at the base.
