Solitary in pine needle duff at the side of a train near a campsite.
Pine needle duff.
Cap to 5 cm wide, convex at first, becoming flat in age, dry, whitish (parts with some pink overtones) with reddish brown scales, scale concentric, thicker to center of pileus (which is solidly red brown due to fibrils). Gills whitish, close, free. Stem more or less equal or slightly spindle shaped, with a fragile ring,whitish at apex above the ring but reddening towards the base (more so with age). Odor distinctive, hard to describe, mildly sweet or fruity at first but with unpleasant metallic overtones.
