In conifers under fir trees, growing in fasciculate bundles of 6 fruiting bodies (2 fruiting bodies connate) on much decayed coniferous duff (humus) not on needles and twigs
This specimen was cited by its Wells-Kempton field number, a combination of the date and an individually assigned specimen number, and was later given the Wells-Kempton Herbarium no. 2029. Detailed notes and drawing with collection Michigan Bot. 1968 7: 45.
