I found this Armillaria mellea clustered on a downed Douglas-fir log (Pseudotsgua menziesii). This is an immature specimen and I didnt know what it was at first, but after being in the lab I keyed it out. Height Total: 11cm Cap Width: 3.5cm Grouped growth. Stringy Pith Membranous Cottony veil Species surrounding: Big leaf Maple (Acer macrophyllum), Salal (Gaultheria shallon), Western red cedar (Thuja plicata), and Western hemlock (Tsuga heterophylla).
