Description: Original observation #434544 (iNaturalist)
Occurrence Remarks: Entoloma abortivum attacks the Honey Fungus, Armillaria mellea, causing it to grow in this odd but unmistakeable form. The outside of the fungus is white, and the inside is a mottled dull reddish pink and grayish buff. Many times, the unaborted form of the Entoloma is also growing amidst the aborted form, looking like a whitish gray, normal gilled mushroom. It grows on rotting wood. I found these specimens in the same place they grew last year.
