moist caps are orange brown fading to buff brown as they dry. inrolled cap margin-- not wavy (i've been waiting for them to wave), adnate gills, white stem. the veil remnants on many of these formed a hair-like ring around the cap margin (see pics 3 and 4, zoom in). stipe is thicker than comparably sized P. cyans. dark brown spore print. brown spores (pic 5). all parts bruise slowly but strongly blue. grows in clusters on wood chips.
