Inflorescences of Cyperus ustulatus infected with Bauerago gardneri so causing abortion of fruits and etiolated glumes in host plant (this produces the plant known as Cyperus ustulatus f. grandispiculosus - which is really a smut induced state of Cyperus ustulatus s.s). Bauerago evident as fine yellow powder lying loosely amongst glumes of host plant. Host plant growing within roadside swamp ((Cyperus / Isolepis sedge/reedland). Voucher collected and lodged in AK.
