Best guess - superficially similar to Hebeloma seen on other side of Kendalls Bay (see http://naturewatch.org.nz/observations/3712353). Looks vaguely like that species - however, gills wrong colour Either way uncommon - seen under dense stands of rawiri (Kunzea linearis). A large, stout fruiting body, thallus 80 mm tall, pileus 60 mm diameter, upper surface smooth, yellow to amber, gills pale orange-brown.
