Occurrence Remarks:
This amorphous fungus was growing out of a crack in a fallen oak tree. It was around 9" long and about 2" across at its widest. It was dry and solid but with some softness to the touch, similar to to the texture of dry insulating foam Looking at the thick, yellow edges, I'm thinking this might be an older, eroded Laetiporus gilbertsonii, but any advice regarding its ID would be greatly appreciated. @leptonia, @gbentall , @noah_siegel Do you happen to recognize this one?
