ravenelii has a swollen tip, is fairly stocky overall, and the surface has fairly large pits. Mature stem dark rose pink above, rose pink to whitish below; no orange shades. caninus has a swollen tip with a small amount of gleba at the tip. elegans is smoothly tapered, not swollen towards the tip.
