note the solid ring around the stipe and the abrupt bulbous base and sort of shaggy looking scales. C. rachodes is the closest to this in our area, but the bulb isn't as abrupt and the sclaes aren't as shaggy. C. olivieri also occurs but its scales are tidy and the stipe is thin and taller on average C. molybdites also occurs, but its gills have a green sheen and its main habitat is grass lawns
