you can see the orangey discolorations at the stipe base on the second fruitbody from left. The odor can be hard to describe (if even detectable), but many people identify with "burnt plastic" or "candle that's just been extinguished". Also, if you slice the fruitbody from top to bottom, there are often 2 or 3 diamond-shaped hollow areas in the stipe.

No noticeable odor or stain, growing under deodar cedar, with lots of wood chips. Stem chalky.
