Distinguished from P. banderillensis by its lighter pileus color and the presence of large pseudocystidia, small pleurocystidia, and two types of cheilocystidia. Type A is small, extremely numerous, thin and often branched. Type B is much larger and inflated / cylindrical and occurs in clusters on the gill edge.
