This specimen is a little smushed, so it is a bit hard to see its diagnostic features. This is a very common species of lichen. There are two other species of similar-looking Hypogymnia that are found on Haida Gwaii, neither of which is very common. H. occidentalis is a bit smaller and doesn't have constrictions in the branches, and H. apinnata doesn't have the small lobules along the margins. There are also a variety of other Hypogymnia species that look significantly different.
